Designing a release as a set
A launch usually needs the same message in many shapes. We start with the main idea, usually one screen and one sentence, and build the wide banner first. Then we adapt it to square, tall and small sizes, cropping the screen differently for each so the important part stays readable.
| Graphic | Common use |
|---|---|
| Hero banner | Website announcement, blog header, launch page |
| Square and tall posts | Social feeds and community channels |
| Email header | Release and newsletter emails |
| Changelog card | Release notes summarized for social and in-app news |
| Slide | Sales and customer success decks |
Each platform sets its own recommended sizes, and they change. We check the current ones for the places you post when we build the final files.
Working from real screens
We capture screens from your product, then clean them up: remove test data, hide personal information, and simplify busy areas so the feature stands out. The graphic should match what users will see when they open the product. We don't invent features or show screens that don't exist.
Campaigns beyond launches
The same approach works for webinars, events, case study announcements and seasonal campaigns. If you have a regular cadence, such as a monthly release, we can set up templates so each new set is quicker.
Questions
Can you match our existing brand style?
Yes. Send your brand guide or a few recent graphics and we follow them. If your style needs updating, we can suggest changes, but only if you ask.
Do you write the copy on the graphics?
We can draft short headlines from your release notes for you to approve. Product claims and numbers have to come from your team.
Shipping something soon? Send the release date, what's new, and where the graphics will go.
